The Vaults
The Vaults are a four star rock outfit made up of Graham Cotton, Richard Clarke, Mark Edwards and James Buckingham hailing from the sleepy town of Stowmarket in Suffolk, where they did indeed learn, not to need to sleep. Hence they take their insomniac tendencies with them when they hit the road, which, since their electric beginnings in 2001, has been near constant. For The Vaults truly know, that there is no rest for the wicked.
So, the story begins way back when it was detentions and black marks. While the other kids played hopscotch in the playground these boys pressed play on their walkmans, pulled out their air guitars and thrashed it out to the likes of ACDC. And the theme was set. As the years rolled passed, air made metal and drum kits formed, hair grew longer and vocals sharpened until they emerged as tightly formed rockers in their own right. The road was tough and real to them, pulling strings to get rehearsal rooms the boys sweat it out and one night sneaked, into the local Red Cross Centre. "There was this poster on the wall, all wires and electric shocks, quite scary, but real, like us", says Eddie. The Vaults were truly born.

Then, as chance has it, they met local man the late John Peel in the pub and handed him their demo. A month later they were invited to record their first session with the Radio DJ, which led them to be chosen for Radio Ones unsigned play list artists.

Meanwhile a loyal following gathered as they stuck it out on the road, inhabiting the back of a transit van, living the dream, getting no sleep. The exposure led The Vaults to be invited as the only support to bearded marvels ZZ Top on their recent Academy and Arena UK tour. They played to over 15,000 people with an electric response and rumours and support spread to the backs of the venues.

Last year they released their debut single "I'm Going", as a limited edition 10" which flew off the shelves. This year has so far seen the release of the aptly titled "No Sleep No Need" EP and in August their second EP "Friday Night Monday Morning Black Out" was released. To support their records the band have been touring non stop and featured at several festival in the summer including the Bull Dog Bash. Currently in the studio writing new and ever changing material. Early 2005 with see the release of their much anticipated debut album.

So the tale continues and the wheels of the van continue to turn taking them higher and nationwide. Hard work and tears make way for rock star success and the music gets louder, welcome to The Vaults.
